Joel-Ann Cook-Walcott started her professional career in Human Resources Management more than 27 years ago with a state enterprise company. Within 5 years she assumed lead responsibility for the human resources function and continued to hold senior HR roles at several organizations at every level from team leader, Manager, Senior Manager, Head HR, and Chair of the HR sub-committee until she left corporate life for her consulting practice.
Her experience in human resources management spans multisector and modalities having served in the private sector, unionized, non-unionized, manufacturing, publicly traded, family-owned, and banking sectors where she developed expertise primarily as a Human Resources generalist, and specialized in Talent and Organization Development and Transformation. She has a Master’s in Human Resources Management, is an accredited specialist in Leadership Development, Training, Performance Management, and Coaching, and has maintained her certification with SHRM, the premier professional organization in the United States for human resources leaders since 2001. She is uniquely qualified to develop leaders given her experience in the development of industry leaders for the past 20 years as well as her Master’s certifications in Creating Leadership Development Programs, Instructional Design, and Performance Consulting with the world-renowned learning and development organization in the United States- ATD.
Her achievements include serving as a Director on state boards during the period 2009 – 2015 and serving as a Council member and President of the Institute of Banking during the period 2013-2015, where she was given the Fellow in Banking for her service to the Banking community. Joel-Ann’s passion for development extended to HR undergraduate students as she tutored during the period 1994-2000 and has been lecturing in the field of Human Resource Management and Organization Behaviour to postgraduate students since 2015. She has presented at regional conferences, speaking on various topics in talent and organization development.
She currently operates her own consultancy practice with her company – Persolve Limited, providing human resources management services to a clientele of primarily private and public sector organizations, and has facilitated workshops for over 500 leaders and professionals in Trinidad and Tobago.
